Independent contractors will often carry liability insurance for their small business. This is still considered a private liability insurance policy because it covers a single individual. Once the individual hires additional employees, the individual will have to advance to corporate or business level liability insurance. This is because the potential for damage or loss is higher for a business than it is for the individual contractor.

As it has been shown, many people carry private liability insurance. This is not an insurance that is limited to the wealthy of America, but rather one that is used by just about every adult in United States.
